PaperStone– PaperStone is made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper that has been saturated with proprietary PetroFree™ phenolic resins and selected natural pigments. It is certified to FSC standards by the Smartwood program of the Rainforest Alliance, is VOC free and has been certified food safe by NSF International. It’s non-porous surface provides a lifetime of stain resistance and it absorbs virtually no water. It is also heat resistant to 350°F. Paperstone contributes towards LEED certification
Squak Mountain Stone – A Fibrous-cement material comprised off 49% post-industrial materials, which include recycled glass, type f coal-fly ash, and 2.5 % post-consumer mixed waste paper, in addition to low carbon Portland cement and iron oxide pigments. Material is hand-cast into “slabs” as an alternative to natural or quarried stone. Squak is available in five earthy colors that resemble soapstone or limestone, all of which would be a beautifully subtle addition to any interior environment. The real beauty in this product is that it is meant to be different: it is not meant to be perfect. Its appearance is rugged, it’s rustic, it’s varied, and, imagine this, its seams will show! Squak Mountain Stone contributes towards LEED certification.
IceStone – IceStone is a durable surface made of 100% recycled glass in a cement matrix. Each slab is VOC-free, made in the USA, and holds Cradle to Cradle Gold Certification. IceStone is a porous surface and as such will require a sealant on a regular basis. IceStone contributes towards LEED certification
LG Hausys – HI-MACS Eden Plus surfaces are one of the most environmentally conscious acrylic products available, featuring up to 41% SCS certified pre-consumer recycled material. There are 17 colors to choose from in the Eden Plus line, and these products also contribute towards LEED certification.
Avonite – Made from 40% reclaimed solid surface which contributes to their goal of zero waste from their manufacturing facility. Avonite’s Recycled collection has eleven colors and are SCS certified, as well as contributing towards LEED certification.
ECO – ECO by Cosentino is a durable surface made of 75% recycled content composed of post-industrial or post-consumer materials, including mirrors, recycled glass, porcelain, and ceramic tile, and is bound by an environmentally friendly resin which comes in part from corn oil. ECO is an ideal substitute for natural or engineered stone. ECO contributes towards LEED certification.
Dupont – Dupont’s Terra collection offers both Corian and Zodiaq utilizing SCS certified pre-consumer recycled material. Corian has 20 colors produced with 6% recycled content and 7 colors with 13% recycled content, while Zodiaq features eight colors created with at least 25% post-consumer recycled material. Both Corian and Zodiaq contibute towards LEED certification.
EcoTop – EcoTop is composed of a Forest Stewardship Council-certified 50/50 blend of bamboo fiber, and recycled wood fiber salvaged from demolition sites. These materials are bound together by a water-based resin formula that is both petroleum-free and VOC-free. EcoTop contributes towards LEED certification.
Vetrazzo- Vetrazzo is composed of a proprietary formula that combines recycled glass with cement, additives and pigments. All of the glass used in Vetrazzo is recycled, and it makes up about 85% of the final material by weight. The largest proportion of glass comes from curbside recycling programs. Other glass comes from post industrial usage, windows, dinnerware, stemware, automotive windshields, stained glass, laboratory glass, reclaimed glass from building demolition, and other unusual sources such as decommissioned traffic lights. Vetrazzo contributes towards LEED certification.
