Engineered Stone is a man-made material comprised of approximately 93% quartz crystals and 7% polyester resin. Quartz is the 4th hardest mineral, making engineered stone extremely durable and scratch resistant. Engineered stone is virtually maintenance free, making it an excelling product for your home.
Stain Resistance – Engineered Stone is non-porous, stain resistant, and will retain its appearance for many years. Engineered Stone does not require the use of a sealer.
Heat Resistance – Engineered Stone is heat resistant. However, sudden extreme temperature changes can cause thermal cracking to occur. We always recommend a hot pad or trivet no matter what countertop product you choose.
Cutting and Abrasion – Because of its high quartz content, engineered stone is very resistant to cuts and abrasions. However, we do not recommend using your countertops as a cutting surface, as it will quickly dull your knives.
Food Safe – Engineered Stone is certified for use as a food preparation surface. Because it is a non-porous product, it can be easily cleaned and sanitized, making it an excellent choice for kitchens and commercial food service areas.
Engineered stone products contribute to the sustainable design goals of a variety of commercial and residential applications.
